About Me
"Navi's Delights" is a small business that began 10 years ago. The owner, Ms. Dinavia L. Griffin, started baking as a child under the watchful eyes of her aunts. She would also try to help her grandmother bake so that she could lick the bowl. But she stopped. Like any child, she wanted to play more than she wanted to bake. As a young adult, she began to look after her elderly great-aunts. They loved to have sweets in the house. Dinavia's great-aunts were no longer able to bake for themselves as they did in the past. So, they taught her how to bake cakes the way they liked. Once she was able to bake a cake without them watching over her shoulder, it became her weekly task to make a cake of their choice.
Dinavia started to fall in love with baking all over again. It reminded her of the wonderful days in her Grandma's kitchen. She was in the grocery store one day, noticed a cake in the freezer and said to herself, "I can do that!"
Dinavia challenged herself to learn how to decorate cakes. It took her 5 years, but she finally found a class schedule that wouldn't interefer with her work schedule. Mission accomplished!
Dinavia completed all of her courses and was ready to decorate. She offered to bake cakes for anyone that she knew just to test out her skills. As she perfected her recipes and some of her designs, people at parties began to ask "Who made the cake? It is really pretty and taste good too!" After a while, friends of friends and family members began to ask "How much do you charge?", "Your cakes are so beautiful!" and "They look too Good to eat!!!!"
That was the beginning of Navi's Delights!!
